Arrivals

Well, we made it.

The weather is balmy and the breeze pleasant.  The flight over was un-eventful.  The first leg from Brisbane to Auckland was spent played some chess againt my room mate, watching others "enjoy" the movie "Bridesmaids", reading my book and exploring the other various in-flight entertainment options.  We overnighted in Auckland, nothing spectacular.  If we hadn't of arrived so late, I would have headed in to town to have  a look around.  As it happened, after the days work and 4hr flight, I was wrecked so I went straight to bed.  We flew out first thing the next morning.  I decided that I would give Bridesmaids ago, and tried in vain to contain myself, however it wasn't to be.  Very funny movie.

We arrived in Rarotonga and were greeted with lays and a tune, which was great and made our way to the Edgewater.  We found our rooms and headed to the bar.  We discovered it was happy hour, so I enjoyed a "Red Snapper" which went down very easy.  Not being a coctail drinker though, I failed to mix it properly, so I suspect I took in a good shot or two first slurp.  The main race breifing was due to be held that afternoon, so we thought we might be able to catch the organisers before they left for the night.  We caught the bus in to discover they had indeed left.  We ended up having dinner and a beer at "Trader Jacks".  We ended the night waiting for the bus outside of a nightclub playing 80's music.  Well, we had a quick drink first...

Today started with a quick run before brekkie, which at 7am was already pretty stifling. Tomorrow will be interesting...  Breakfast followed before we tracked down the event management and got our race packs.  Once again I caught the bus to town to have a look around.  Three hours later and a bit of lunch we were back on the bus.  We took the anti-clockwise bus back, which we ended up taking 1 & 1/4 times around, as a reccy was required before the race tomorrow.

I am just kicking back this afternoon, will probably head down to the pool shortly.  Maybe go to the beach.   Doesn't really matter I guess.

Its pasta dinner tonight, then early night for the race tomorrow!
